Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Guild presents
"PolyBURGH" Polymer Clay in the ‘Burgh’s 2007 RetreatMaking even MORE new friends!
Renewing old friendships!
The Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Guild cordially invites you to join us for our
5th Annual Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Retreat!
October 26 PM through October 28
At the Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Guild, there’s only one thing more
exciting than claying—claying with friends! This year we will be at
Lutherlyn in Prospect, PA. Lutherlyn is a year-round retreat center on
640 scenic acres with two lakes, 17 miles of trails, and comfortable
accommodations. A short walk from the A-frame cabin accommodations, our
work space will be in the spacious, well-lit dining hall open 24 hours.
Lutherlyn is located 40 miles north of Pittsburgh off of Route 422
between Butler and Prospect. The best routes to Route 422 are I-79 or
Route 8. For detailed directions check out their website at www.lutherlyn.com.
Dates: From 4:00 Friday afternoon, October 26th through 3:00pm on Sunday, October 28th, 2007.
Accommodations: We have reserved three A-frame Village cabins
which house 12 beds each (eight bottom bunks and four top bunks), two
full bathrooms (including showers), a porch, carpet, and heating. You
will need to provide your own bedding and towels. Early registration
and payment can secure a lower bunk while they last.
Cost:
$149.00 for Guild Members and
$159.00 for non-members for the entire weekend!
This includes your lodging, a beverage bar,
snacks, (soft drinks, coffee and tea), six meals, dinner Friday through
lunch on Sunday, and Friday evening campfire with goodies.
Register early to ensure a lower bunk, and notify upon registration if
you have a bunk buddy you want in your cabin. Last day for registration
and payment is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th. No exceptions or refunds after
this date.
As we did last year, we’ll organize a group order from Munro
Crafts for all who are attending the retreat. If you’ve dealt with them
in the past, you know that a bulk order can really save you some money.
Check them out on the web at www.munrocrafts.com
What makes the retreat so wondrous:
If you’ve been to our other four retreats, you know that—from the
overflowing Goody Bags when you arrive to the last hug you get when you
leave—this is a special time!! Pittsburgh Polymer Clay Guild is an
insanely good-spirited group of Clay Fanatics and fun folks!!! Come
relax, share, swap and learn from demos, tips and techniques.
Friday night: campfire
Saturday morning: Kick-Start Your Creativity Exercise
Goody Bags: Becca's Abundant Goody Bags
Demos: As in past years, there will be folks
with new ideas willing to share by formal demos or impromptu ones
throughout the weekend. This weekend is all about rest, relaxation and
CLAY!
Auction: An auction of wondrous art and
materials from participants and sponsors of the retreat. Chances of
getting a bargain or a highly sought-after piece of art are always
high!
