Meredith Arnold is teaching her beginner polymer program "Exploring Polymer Clay" designed to take anyone to intermediate/advanced skill levels quickly. Students have the option of making their own tools, components provided, or jewelry items in class using the variety of techniques demonstrated. Other classes she's teaching are complementary to polymer clay jewelry and include making silk beads (luscious!) and simply braided cords, an introduction to Kumihimo, the ancient art of cord braiding in Japan.

Other polymer instructors include Janet Farris and KLEW.

The Crafts Report is a business resource magazine for artists and retailers of fine craft and art. The focus for July 2008's Insight Section is POLYMER CLAY ART, and the magazine is searching for polymer artists to feature.

For those not aware, Insight highlights artists' ideas for marketing their products/business and the successes they have achieved in doing so. It allows artists to share their business insights with fellow craftspeople of the same genre. This is a short essay and photo submission, not an advertisement. As such, there is no cost to participate. This is simply a way for artists to share marketing ideas, success stories and business tips with other craftspeople and artists while publicizing their own work.

In order to participate in Insight, artists must submit a high quality image of their work -300 dpi and over 4x4 inches in size- along with a 100-word essay sharing where they find the best markets for their work. A physical location (city and state or province), phone number and email address must be included as well.

In addition, The Crafts Report is looking for photos of polymer clay artists at work for the magazine cover photo. Cover images must be 300 dpi and at least 8 ½ inches by 10 inches in physical size.

Coming soon, live online video classes by a wide variety of artists in a wide variety of mediums, including many on polymer clay.  We will be having classes with many of your favorite polymer clay artists and we hope you will join us.
